Keeping Nail Salon Standards

Home » Keeping Nail Salon Standards

Nail technicians that do not abide to proper safety precautions and procedures may pass along infections to customers receiving a manicure or a pedicure. What is standard protocol???

Before you get too comfortable in the way your salon is working, consider these applications from the International Pedicure Association:

1) Be sure all areas of the salon are clean.

2) All technicians at the salon must be licensed, and their licenses should be displayed properly.

3) Before starting a manicure or pedicure, the technician should examine your hands or feet and point out any signs of infection.

4) All tools should be disinfected before and after use on customers.

5) All tools that cannot be sterilized must be disposed of.

6) The salon should be properly ventilated.

7) Each customer must receive a clean towel. Hopefully this has helped you recoginize the International expectations of a Nail Technician.
